Liver Flukes

Liver flukes require very wet ground and a host species of snail in order to complete their life cycle. Beware of goats originating in the Pacific Northwest (including western Montana) and the Southeast. In many arid areas, liver flukes are not a problem even when brought in by an infected host as the requisite snail is no where to be found. But the fluke will cause irreparable damage to its host if not removed.
